Victor Borden, Ph.D.
Vic specializes in institutional research, student learning outcomes assessment, and higher education organizational effectiveness. He writes, consults, and teaches workshops on these subjects. He has published more than 100 articles and book chapters and delivered more than 200 presentations and workshops throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Africa. He is also senior advisor to IU’s Executive Vice President for University Regional Affairs, Planning and Policy and is a past president of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR).
Kathi A. Ketcheson
From 1998 to 2001, Kathi directed the Portland State’s institutional portfolio project, a national project funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts and sponsored by the American Association for Higher Education. In 2005, the institutional portfolio served as PSU’s self-study document for reaccreditation by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and is being retooled for the new accreditation cycle, which begins in 2011. Kathi has published and presented widely, both nationally and internationally, on institutional portfolios in accreditation, assessment, and accountability and frequently serves as a consultant to other higher education institutions in the development of portfolios and in program evaluation and assessment.

David C. Paris, Ph.D.
David and the Alliance aim to improve student learning through voluntary and cooperative professional efforts to significantly improve assessment of — and accountability for — student learning outcomes. He is also a senior advisor to the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and a professor of government at Hamilton College. David was one of the primary developers and editors of the statement “New Leadership for Student Learning and Accountability: A Statement of Principles, Commitments to Action,” published in January 2008 by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation, with support from the Teagle Foundation.

Barbara Wright, Ph.D.
Barbara is a respected national expert on assessment with extensive experience in accreditation. She served six years as a member of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. Barbara also has experience in a variety of higher education administrative positions, and has consulted on issues of assessment, general education, foreign language instruction, and faculty development. She taught for many years at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, prior to her appointment to WASC. Barbara holds a Ph.D. in German literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
