Diane Schmitz, Ed.D.,
Diane oversees the three-time national award-winning Collegia Program, which has served as a model for similar programs in the US and Canada. The Collegia Program creates learning communities for commuter and transfer students that provide a sense of belonging and a broader educational experience. Diane has 12 years of experience developing successful orientation programs for transfer, non-traditional, and graduate students as well as in multicultural competency development for students, staff, and faculty and organizational change. She has presented on these topics at regional and national conferences and served as a consultant with other universities. Diane’s doctoral research focused on the experiences of transfer students of color with student affairs professionals.

Charlene Stinard
With more than 21 years working in higher education, Charlene has served as a faculty member, associate university registrar, and associate director of undergraduate admissions. Now at UCF as director of transfer and transition services, she promotes the academic preparation and transition of more than 10,000 transfer students who enroll each year at UCF, and serves as an advocate for their retention and graduation. Charlene has presented on the subject of transfer students at numerous national and regional conferences, has won national awards for her office’s work with transfer students, and is co-author of “Networks for Transfer Success,” published in the Journal of Applied Research for Community Colleges.
