Helping young alumni develop a connection to your institution is increasingly important as class sizes grow and your alumni population includes a larger proportion of younger graduates. At many campuses, alumni relations and annual giving departments share the responsibility for young alumni issues, so forming partnerships can maximize time and resources.

Craig Horvath

Director, Reunion Giving and Volunteers

University of Notre Dame

Craig directs reunion giving efforts for the University of Notre Dame. He also oversees the Matching Gifts program, young alumni giving, and student philanthropy. Under his leadership, Notre Dame’s Matching Gifts program was the No. 1 program in the country last year for total dollars raised ($3.6 million). Also under his leadership, the Notre Dame 50-year reunion class set the all-time participation record at 83.6 percent. In Craig’s first year, Notre Dame’s overall reunion giving program increased from 44 percent participation to 47.9 percent participation; the university’s young alumni giving society, the Corby Society, significantly increased in total number of members and total dollars raised; and senior legacy gift participation went from 41 percent to 48 percent.

Young Alumni Program Manager

Notre Dame Alumni Association

Stephanie works with young alumni and student programs within the Notre Dame Alumni Association, and strives to keep the two demographics engaged and connected to Notre Dame. Stephanie works closely with Notre Dame Clubs around the country to connect students to their hometown ND Clubs. She works nationally with Notre Dame Club volunteers on young alumni activities and engagement, and is currently creating national programming for young alumni.
