Learn effective strategies for supervision and gain practical tools to support individual, team, and organizational goals.

Overview

All too often in higher education, individuals move into a supervisory role without the necessary tools and skills to be successful. Particularly in today’s challenging environments, effective supervision is key to building an effective culture where each individual can contribute to team success.

Join us online for a six-week bootcamp specifically designed for higher-education supervisors who are looking to deepen their skills. The bootcamp includes both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities, as well as a leadership assessment and one private coaching session. This blend of engagement opportunities will allow you time to reflect on and then share your learning in a communal group setting during the live online weekly sessions. The bootcamp is limited to 25 participants to ensure a personal, engaging, and action-oriented experience.

You will leave the bootcamp as a member of a network of supervisors, with a deeper understanding of effective strategies for supervision, as well as with a host of practical tools you can apply right away to better support individual, team, and organizational goals.

A Highly Personalized Experience

This online bootcamp consists of:

  • Six live online weekly sessions where you can focus on developing and refining your supervisory skills.
  • Asynchronous activities, no more than one hour in length, linked to sessions 2, 3, 4, and 5 to accommodate differing schedules, and that will allow for deeper learning to inform community engagement in the live online sessions.
  • Leadership Assessment: Through Academic Impressions’ Five Paths to Leadership℠ Self-Assessment, individual assignments, and group discussions, you’ll discover how you leverage your leadership strengths under typical circumstances as well as more stressful ones.
  • Activities geared to various learning preferences, including videos with embedded reflection and hands-on application exercises.
  • As a part of the bootcamp, you will have one one-on-one 30-minute coaching session with Dr. Therese Lask, the bootcamp facilitator. The first session will allow you to identify individual goals for your engagement in the bootcamp. The second will help you set a path forward for your continued development as a supervisor.

To preserve the intimate and interactive nature of this training, the bootcamp is limited to 25 participants. Register early to reserve your spot!
