Darla K. Deardorff

In Dr. Darla Deardorff’s current position, she is a research scholar in education and founder of ICC Global, a global network on intercultural competence research. In addition, she is an adjunct professor at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, is a visiting faculty at Leeds Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, and is on faculty of the prestigious Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication in Portland, Oregon.

With nearly twenty years of experience in the international education field, she has published widely on topics in international education; she was editor of The SAGE Handbook of Intercultural Competence (Sage, 2009), as well as several other books. She serves as a consultant and trainer for universities, corporations, and non-profit organizations. Her research interests include intercultural competence, outcomes assessment, internationalization, and teacher education.
