How copyright and fair use laws apply to teaching, research, and publications is not always clear, and the increasing ease of copying and distributing digital materials raises the stakes even more. Educators often do not have access to the resources and support they need to deal with these challenges.
Join us online to learn key concepts that every faculty member needs to know in applying copyright law in the classroom (both face-to face and online), research, and scholarly publications. To help you understand these concepts, our expert instructor will provide a practical overview of core copyright principles and then offer you the chance to apply your knowledge to common scenarios on campus.
In all 3 sessions, you will be guided through core copyright principles and then invited to test your knowledge through a series of common scenarios The 3 sessions will cover the following:
- Session 1 – Using copyright in the face-to-face and online classrooms
- Session 2 – Applying fair use in faculty research and publications
- Session 3 – Managing ownership of your copyrighted works
You may register for the entire series or for individual sessions.
