Janice Hawkins

Janice Hawkins, PhD, RN, CNS, FAAN, is an Associate Professor and Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at Old Dominion University. Inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, Dr. Hawkins is widely recognized for her contributions to nursing education and global health advocacy. She is an International Council of Nurses Certified Global Nurse Consultant and a Climate for Health Ambassador, committed to addressing health equity and environmental health challenges. Her scholarly work has contributed to shaping nursing education, supporting student success, and preparing the nursing practice workforce to reduce health disparities worldwide. Dr. Hawkins currently serves as Secretary for Sigma Nursing’s International Board of Directors and Vice Chair for the Board of the American Institute on Disparities in Public Health. A retired U.S. Army Nurse and Desert Storm veteran, she brings decades of leadership experience in clinical practice, higher education, and health policy.
