Take this opportunity to rethink how your meetings are designed by exploring the hidden expectations and preferences people bring to the table. Using the Five Paths to Leadership® model as a framework, you’ll reflect on your current meeting practices, collaborate in small groups to design your “ideal meeting,” and share insights that highlight different leadership strengths and needs. Supervision Certificate Program – June 1 Cohort

Often in higher education, individuals move into a supervisory role without the necessary tools and skills to be successful. Particularly in today’s challenging environments, effective supervision is key to building an effective culture where each individual can contribute to team success. Join us online for a four-week cohort based program leveraging both asynchronous and synchronous learning specifically designed for higher education supervisors who are new to their roles, looking to deepen their skills, or for those who aspire to supervisor roles. Once you have completed the asynchronous modules of the course, you’ll receive your digital badge and certification. For the most comprehensive experience, we recommend you also attend the live sessions or watch recordings of them to learn some additional tips and skills in feedback and career growth.

Building and Leading a Healthy Academic Department Culture

Trust is fragile in academia, and culture is always forming. For academic leaders, the question is not whether a culture exists, but whether it is being shaped with intention.  This workshop equips department Chairs, Deans, and academic leaders with a clear framework for building and sustaining healthy unit cultures rooted in transparency, accountability, and psychological safety. You’ll model a culture-building exercise you can bring back to your departments while exploring the leadership behaviors that most powerfully influence team norms.  By identifying the common enemies of trust—such as inconsistency, avoidance, and perceived favoritism—you’ll also develop practical strategies to strengthen credibility and fairness. The result: Teams that are more resilient, collaborative, and capable of navigating change together.  To preserve an intimate and productive experience, this workshop is capped at 30 attendees.

Using The Five Paths to Leadership® to Facilitate Effective Meetings

You already understand how, foundationally, the Five Paths increases self-awareness at various leadership levels.  This session will take what the Five Paths teaches in terms of self-awareness and the nuances of personal, interpersonal and team leadership to  situate them within one of the most common, and sometimes frustrating settings we all work within—meetings.

Inclusive Leadership Certificate Program: Build Your Skills and Self-Awareness – April Cohort

Effective leadership is inclusive leadership. When our colleagues feel they can show up authentically in all aspects of their identities and contribute without fear of repercussion, we’re building stronger teams and stronger organizations. But this doesn’t happen automatically—it takes time, intention, and continuous learning and growth.  Our Inclusive Leadership Certificate Program: Build Your Skills and Self-Awareness is designed as a first step on that journey. Academic Impressions’ leadership model takes a holistic approach to leadership across four key dimensions: self-awareness and personal development, interpersonal leadership skills, team development, and leading at the organizational level. This program takes you on a deep dive into self-awareness and personal development to help you to become a more inclusive leader. You can participate individually or with your team in this 4-week program, which explores four key questions:  Each week includes resources and practical strategies to help you to lead more inclusively. The course culminates in a draft of your inclusive leadership philosophy which you can use as a guide in the future—because this work does not end with the conclusion of the program.
