Five Paths to Leadership® Self-Assessment Facilitation Certification Training

Thousands of faculty and staff across North America have benefited from The Five Paths to Leadership® Self-Assessment because it’s an intuitive and powerful tool that helps them to better understand their natural leadership style and how it changes under stress. By growing their self-awareness, they become more adaptive and responsive leaders, which positions them well for current or future leadership roles, whether in the classroom, in committees, or at the department/unit level.    In addition, insights gained through the Five Paths to Leadership® Self-Assessment can be used to improve interpersonal and team dynamics. Supervision Certificate Program – October 12 Cohort

Often in higher education, individuals move into a supervisory role without the necessary tools and skills to be successful. Particularly in today’s challenging environments, effective supervision is key to building an effective culture where each individual can contribute to team success. Join us online for a four-week cohort based program leveraging both asynchronous and synchronous learning specifically designed for higher education supervisors who are new to their roles, looking to deepen their skills, or for those who aspire to supervisor roles. Once you have completed the asynchronous modules of the course, you’ll receive your digital badge and certification. For the most comprehensive experience, we recommend you also attend the live sessions or watch recordings of them to learn some additional tips and skills in feedback and career growth.

Five Paths to Leadership® Results Debrief Session

Now included in membership! Academic Impressions’ Five Paths to Leadership Assessment has been leveraged in our leadership programs for years. Thousands of leaders in higher ed have benefited from this dynamic model that explores and reveals how one’s leadership styles manifest under normal circumstances—and how they change under stress.  Having a deeper understanding of your own leadership styles in varying situations increases your self-awareness, enhances your emotional quotient, and allows you to more effectively plan, communicate, strategize, and, ultimately, lead.   Join us to learn what your own leadership styles are, how they might change under stress, and how this can apply to your team. Inclusive Leadership Certificate Program: Build Your Skills and Self-Awareness – October Cohort

Effective leadership is inclusive leadership. When our colleagues feel they can show up authentically in all aspects of their identities and contribute without fear of repercussion, we’re building stronger teams and stronger organizations. But this doesn’t happen automatically—it takes time, intention, and continuous learning and growth.  Our Inclusive Leadership Certificate Program: Build Your Skills and Self-Awareness is designed as a first step on that journey. Academic Impressions’ leadership model takes a holistic approach to leadership across four key dimensions: self-awareness and personal development, interpersonal leadership skills, team development, and leading at the organizational level. This program takes you on a deep dive into self-awareness and personal development to help you to become a more inclusive leader. You can participate individually or with your team in this 4-week program, which explores four key questions:  Each week includes resources and practical strategies to help you to lead more inclusively. The course culminates in a draft of your inclusive leadership philosophy which you can use as a guide in the future—because this work does not end with the conclusion of the program.

Delegating with the Five Paths to Leadership®

Delegation is one of the hardest leadership skills to actually practice, especially when your plate is already full and doing it yourself feels faster and safer. In this virtual session, we’ll help you to see delegation through a new lens: the Five Paths to Leadership®.  We’ll open with a brief overview of the Five Paths, then move into two hands-on activities. First, you’ll explore what’s genuinely holding you back from delegating—whether that’s a fear of losing quality, overloading your team, or losing your own sense of impact. Then you’ll practice crafting a real delegation message—one that speaks to what actually motivates the person you’re delegating to.  You’ll leave with a message you can send this week, and with a clearer picture of what’s been getting in your own way. Join us to build a habit that frees you up for the work that only you can do, and that gives someone else the chance to grow into theirs. 

Advanced Supervision Certificate – January Cohort 

Welcome to the January 2027 cohort of the Advanced Supervision Certificate. Our goal is to help you to develop your supervisor toolkit and grow in your confidence and ability to positively and effectively develop team members who can contribute to your institution’s goals and mission.       Our offerings are based on the premise that the most important elements in a supervisor’s leadership and organizational development include understanding the best practices, taking space to practice and reflect, and taking part in a community to enhance and broaden your perspective.   As such, our supervision offerings combine written and video content, live practice sessions, a cohort experience, and a community of practice.    If you haven’t taken any supervisor training previously, we recommend that you start with the Supervision Certificate as a pre-requisite for this program.
