Joanne Steele
Since 1997, Ms. Steele has served as Vice Provost for Information Technology/CIO for Iona College. Among her responsibilities have been serving on the President’s Cabinet, establishing future goals for Information Technology and Libraries, and managing the following areas: administrative computing, academic computing, college libraries, web services, network services, data communications, telecommunications, duplicating and graphics. Ms. Steele and her team were responsible for the renovation and transformation of Iona’s two Libraries. The state of the art Libraries now provide an integrated service point for all IT and Library needs. She was also a key player on the creation of the mock trading floor in the Hagan School of Business.
While serving on the President’s Cabinet, she has been involved in the many of the college’s strategic planning teams. Currently, she is serving as a Director of the implementation of the college wide strategic plan. She has created numerous IT Strategic Plans in collaboration with the Committee on Information Technology and Computing Services.
