A New Partnership Between Johns Hopkins University and Academic Impressions

May 2023

Johns Hopkins University has announced a new 3-year partnership with Academic Impressions, a leading professional development firm, to invest in leadership development across the campus for faculty and staff at all levels. This investment places Johns Hopkins among other leading institutions such as the University of Chicago, NYU, and Case Western Reserve University who have also partnered with Academic Impressions.

The partnership between Johns Hopkins University and Academic Impressions underscores the growing recognition among higher education institutions that investing in leadership development is critical to their long-term success. By developing a strong leadership pipeline, institutions can build resilience, foster innovation, and adapt to changing circumstances in a rapidly evolving higher education landscape.

The partnership will provide faculty and staff with access to a wide range of professional development resources, including online courses, webinars, workshops, and coaching. These resources are designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge they need to lead in uncertain times and navigate the complexities of higher education.

"We are thrilled to partner with Academic Impressions to invest in leadership development across our campus," said Charlene Gamaldo, Associate Vice Provost for JHU Provost’s Leadership, Advancement & Development. "As the higher education landscape continues to evolve, it is critical that we invest in our people and provide them with the tools and resources they need to lead with confidence and adapt to changing circumstances. We believe that this partnership will help us achieve that goal."

Academic Impressions has a strong track record of helping institutions develop leadership capacity among their faculty and staff. Their programs are designed to be flexible and tailored to the specific needs of each institution. With this partnership, Johns Hopkins University will be able to take advantage of this expertise and develop a comprehensive leadership development program that meets the unique needs of its campus.

"We are excited to work with Johns Hopkins University to develop a comprehensive leadership development program that will help faculty and staff at all levels navigate the challenges of higher education," said Amit Mrig, President of Academic Impressions. "By investing in leadership development, Johns Hopkins University is demonstrating its commitment to providing its people with the tools and resources they need to lead with confidence and navigate an increasingly difficult and disruptive higher-ed landscape."
