Provost Summit: Leading for Innovation and Growth

Denver, CO | September 26, 2024 8:30 am MT - September 27, 2024 3:00 pm MT

Expand your leadership and innovative thinking skills alongside other Provosts and Chief Academic Officers.

Overview

In today’s rapidly changing world, innovation has become a critical driver of success for individual leaders and their organizations. However, fostering a culture of innovation is not easy—especially in academia, where traditions and hierarchy often prevail.

This unique event aims to bring Provosts together to connect with peers, develop their own leadership, and learn proven strategies for fostering an innovative mindset and culture at their institutions. Participants will learn about key elements of an innovative culture such as openness, experimentation, collaboration, and risk-taking and hear translatable examples of how other institutions have successfully cultivated them, such as:

  • Illinois Institute of Technology: Innovating for the future of work.
  • National Louis University: Innovating to close achievement and equity gaps.
  • Vincennes University: Leveraging leadership development to change culture and mindset.

This Summit is designed to be interactive and engaging, with plenty of opportunities for discussion, reflection, and practical exercises. You’ll leave with an expanded network of other Provosts across the nation who are equally invested in thinking outside the box to move their institutions forward.

Optional Executive Coaching: For those who choose to add on our Executive Coaching package, you will receive 6 sessions of executive coaching and will be paired with a coach who has extensive experience in higher education. With a range of expert coaches, we can ensure the right fit for you.

Who should attend?

This summit has been specifically designed for Provosts and other Chief Academic Officers. If you are seeking an opportunity to step away from day-to-day managerial tasks, to think “bigger picture” about innovation and growth for your institution, and to develop your own leadership, this conference is for you.

Reviews

As a newer provost, attending the AI Provost Summit was truly an invigorating experience. The summit not only provided valuable networking opportunities but also served as inspirational platform, fostering meaningful connections with fellow Provosts. I found the summit to be a great opportunity for gainful insights, exchanging ideas, and discovering innovative startups to further advance academic excellence and student success at my institution.
The Provost Summit was an excellent opportunity to meet outstanding peers from all different types of institutions and discuss strategic opportunities, how we can continue to grow as leaders, and learn innovative practices that can help us elevate the institutions we serve.
The opportunity to learn and engage with other Provosts around issues impacting higher education was outstanding. The environment allowed one to walk away feeling good about the practices that we may have in place on our own campuses but also be challenged about how to improve others.

The experience at the inaugural Provost conference was superb. Networking with other colleagues, sharing our own institutional issues, discussing current and future higher Ed issues, and learning how to better work as a team resulted in a high level experience that is unparalleled, based on my experience. Excellent job, AI!
