Academic Impressions (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a professional development organization serving higher education institutions across the United States and Canada.

Currently, we do not use our SMS Text Messaging Service (“service”) for any direct, person-to-person text message communication between any Academic Impressions employees and anyone outside of our organization. This service is  implemented for internal use only.

Currently, this service does not involve person-to-person SMS communication marketing, bulk messaging, automated outreach, or promotional communications of any kind.

SMS-enabled phone numbers are assigned to a limited, designated group of employees and are used only to receive account verification and two-factor authentication (2FA) codes from third-party applications and services, and is not currently used for any direct 1-1 business conversations with our customers.

If in the future we do decide to allow 1-1 business conversations with our customers, this policy will be updated, and the sections below will apply.

By texting START to an Academic Impressions employee number, or by responding to a message initiated by one of our employees, you consent to receive text messages from that individual employee’s assigned number.

Consent is specific to the individual employee number you are communicating with and does not constitute consent to receive messages from other Academic Impressions numbers or from the organization at large.

By opting in, you also agree to these Terms of Use and our general Privacy Policy & Terms of Use.

You may opt out of receiving messages from a specific Academic Impressions employee number at any time by replying with any of the following keywords: STOP, QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE

After opting out, you will receive one confirmation message and no further messages from that number. Your opt-out applies only to the specific employee number you messaged and does not affect other Academic Impressions numbers.

To resume receiving messages from that number, reply START.

The following keywords are recognized and will trigger an automated response from any Academic Impressions SMS-enabled number:

• START – Opt in to receive messages from this number and resume a conversation.
• STOP / QUIT / END / CANCEL / UNSUBSCRIBE – Opt out and stop receiving messages from this number.
• HELP – Receive contact and support information.

We respect your privacy. Information collected through this SMS service — including your mobile phone number — is used solely to facilitate the text message communication between you and the Academic Impressions employee you are in contact with.

We may share your information with platform providers, telecommunications carriers, and technology vendors as necessary to deliver the SMS service. This sharing is limited to what is operationally required.

Mobile opt-in information and consent data will not be shared with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. All opt-in data and consent records are excluded from any data-sharing arrangements.

We reserve the right to disclose information as required by law, regulation, or governmental request, or as necessary to protect our rights or property.

This SMS Privacy Policy supplements and does not replace our general Privacy Policy & Terms of Use, which governs other aspects of your relationship with Academic Impressions.
