Geoff Coyle

Geoff Coyle serves as Social Media Editor for West Virginia University. In this role, Geoff and the rest of the Social team work to promote the University’s message and image for prospective students, current students, and alumni through digital platforms. Prior to joining the team at WVU, Geoff worked in sports television for West Virginia Illustrated, gaining experience as a host and reporter for various network broadcasts. He continues to dabble in the sports realm as a freelance camera operator and a contributor for Stadium. A Maryland native, Geoff graduated from the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism at West Virginia University.

Lisa Simmons

Lisa Simmons has 15 years of administrative experience with orientation, transition, and retention programs. She directs Student Orientation and Transition Services at Utah State University, an office that houses orientation, parent and family programs, first-year experience, and advising for students taking a leave of absence. She developed an orientation program that provides customized, just-in-time information to over 6,000 students who are starting classes at nearly 30 sites and campuses throughout the state. She is also a director within the Student Achievement Collaborative, a group that designs interdepartmental solutions to challenging issues related to student success. She has a master’s degree in English, with an emphasis in technical and professional communication.

Glenn Davis

Glenn started his career as a faculty member in the English Department at St. Cloud State University, where he also served as Chair, before becoming Interim Dean of University College. In all his roles, he worked to address barriers to student progress. As Interim Dean, he led several change initiatives that included a campus-wide effort to promote students’ sense of belonging. This effort was broadly collaborative and brought together a diverse group of faculty, staff, and administrators in service of student success. At Bowling Green State University, Glenn leads initiatives designed to improve the undergraduate student experience. Glenn completed a B.A. in Linguistics at Harvard University, an M.A. in Medieval Studies at The University of York, and a Ph.D. in English at The University of Texas at Austin.

Kathleen Almy

Kathleen provides colleges and high schools with solutions for math initiatives and ideas for improvement for math courses and policies. She is the former Illinois Director for Transitional Math, where she led the statewide implementation of transitional math courses across Illinois. She currently consults with individual high schools and colleges on transitional math implementations, as well as other states. Prior to her administrative work, she was a mathematics professor with 20 years of experience in high school and college classrooms. Her degrees include a B.S. in Mathematics Education from Southern Illinois University and an M.S. in Pure Mathematics from Northern Illinois University. She is pursuing a doctorate in education, with an emphasis on community college leadership.

Terry Snyder

Since 2011 Terry has served as the chief administrator of the Haverford College Libraries including the Lutnick Library, which houses the internationally important Quaker and Special Collections Library; the Gilbert F. White Science Library; the Astronomy Library; and the Union Music Library. (Read more on Haverford Libraries’ program and strategic plan here.) Prior to coming to Haverford Terry served as the Deputy Director of the Hagley Museum and Library where she was responsible for the leadership, administration, management, and strategic direction of the Library Division, which housed the nation’s leading business history libraries. Her role included oversight of all functional areas of the Libraries including Printed Collections, Pictorial Collections, Manuscript and Archives, Digital Collections, Conservation, and the Center for the Study of the History of Business, Technology, and Society. She was also responsible for supervising Information Technology implementation for the campus. Previous positions included roles as Associate Director of the University Archives and Records Management at the University of Pennsylvania and as Associate Curator of Manuscripts at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. Dr. Chris Davis

In over two decades in higher education, Dr. Davis has served in a variety of leadership and faculty roles at multiple universities in both the non-profit and for-profit sector. He started his career in higher education as an adjunct faculty member at Baker College in Michigan in 1997. He joined the faculty at Baker full-time a year later and moved into administration, first as a Dean, and then as system Director for Effective Teaching and Learning, and later becoming Director of Assessment. In 2008, he joined National Louis University in Chicago as Vice Provost for Institutional Effectiveness. Joining Colorado Technical University in 2011, he served as Vice Provost with responsibility for online faculty and later supervised doctoral programs. He became Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness at Western International University in 2014, and later became Provost and then President during the teach-out of the university until it closed March 1, 2019. Dr. Davis served as a Higher Learning Commission peer reviewer for 15 years. Allison M. Vaillancourt, PhD

Allison M. Vaillancourt Ph.D. is an organizational strategy consultant, national speaker, and executive coach with more than 30 years of higher education experience. Most recently, she was Vice President of Business Affairs & Human Resources at the University of Arizona where she also held faculty appointments in the UA School of Government and Public Policy and the Honors College. Under her guidance, the University of Arizona was nationally recognized for building a community of leaders, reducing administrative complexity, and creating an inclusive organizational culture. Sarah Marshall Elliott

Sarah Marshall Elliott is an accomplished brand strategist, as well as marketing and publishing expert. Her career began at USA TODAY, where she worked in marketing, advertising, licensing, new media, and business development. She also launched and served as vice president of advertising/marketing for an innovative new media start-up, USA TODAY SkyRadio. Sarah spent 10 years in consumer magazine publishing as the publisher of Tuff Stuff Magazines, vice president of advertising/marketing for Sabot Publishing Inc., and publisher/group publisher of Southwest Art Magazine, American Cowboy, and The Collector’s Guide to Art in New Mexico. She was also the founding publisher and editor of the magazine Living West. Before joining Virginia Tech in June of 2015, Sarah owned a brand consultancy and served as director of marketing and brand strategy for Virginia Farm Bureau. Erica J. Lewis, Ph.D., RN

Dr. Erica Lewis is an expert in innovation and problem solving. Her primary work is in the School of Nursing at James Madison University, where she partners with doctoral students completing quality improvement research and implementation projects. Dr. Lewis has coached several doctoral students using innovative methods, such as design thinking to create change in their practice setting. Dr. Lewis teaches in the JMU XLabs in the community and medical innovations courses and formerly in the Hacking for Defense course. Her work in the JMU XLabs includes curriculum development, research of student learning outcomes, training faculty, and cultivating relationships with industry collaborators.
