With almost 20 years of experience in higher education fundraising, Francine has spent the last 5 years at Emory University. During that time, the annual fund has more than doubled from $3.6 million in fiscal year 2002-03 to $8.4 million in fiscal year 2006-07 and participation has grown from 25 percent to 37 percent. Before coming to Emory, Francine worked in annual giving at Rochester Institute of Technology, with an active role in RIT's $100 million five-year capital campaign. Francine also served as director of development & alumni relations at SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome for over 8 years before coming to Emory.
Janine administers a comprehensive annual giving program, including direct mail appeals, TCU’s phone program, gift societies, and other strategic projects. She previously directed undergraduate philanthropy education programming, senior giving, and young alumni solicitation as the institution’s director of student and young alumni programs. Before arriving at TCU, Janine spent more than four years in alumni relations at the University of North Texas, where she gained experience in volunteer management, operations, events, and student involvement.
Devin T. Mathias has recently joined Grenzebach Glier and Associates as vice president of benchmarking, philanthropic analytics. Prior to joining GG+A, Devin spent over nine years in the development field, most recently as director of annual giving at the University of Michigan. In his role at Michigan, he oversaw the central annual giving team, providing service to over 20 schools, colleges, campuses, and units. Before joining Michigan, Devin spent over five years with the University of Florida Foundation, most recently as director of The Florida Fund, UF's annual giving programs. Prior to coming to Florida, he worked with Penn State's annual giving program and Affinity Connection, a private alumni and constituents' relations firm. His first leadership role in philanthropy was as an undergraduate student with Penn State's Dance Marathon, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. Devin recently completed his tenure as chair of the Annual Giving Directors' Consortium. He also founded the Southeastern Student Development Forum, the SEC Annual Fund Conference, and the SEC Challenge, modeled after the Big Ten Challenge. He contributed a chapter entitled "Recognition and Stewardship of Young Alumni: Transitioning from Educating Potential Donors to Securing Lifelong Donors" for the upcoming CASE book, Fundraising for Young Constituent Groups.
