Overview

Campus risk management requires a campus community and culture that includes students, faculty, and staff, and advocates responsible conduct. But students tend not to be involved in the risk management process, and thus open themselves and the institution up to unnecessary risk or harm. Involving students in an institution-wide conversation about risk management can help them think about and take responsibility for risks inherent in their activities and events.

This on-demand program introduces a proactive, student-focused approach to risk management. Explore ways your campus can begin a long-term conversation about risk assessment with your students and promote responsible behavior and event planning.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Anyone who works with students planning on- and off-campus events and activities will learn techniques to get students thinking about risk management.

Director of Student & Campus Community Development

Arizona State University at Downtown Phoenix campus

Kim's primary responsibilities involve the oversight and development of a team that will lead Student Conduct Programs, Student Affairs Risk Management, High Risk Behavior Education, Student Advocacy Services, Crisis intervention and Response, and Parent & Family Connections/Communications for the new campus. Prior to joining the ASU community, Kim worked at Texas A&M University, where she led the implementation of the University's proactive risk management plan for student organizations.

Adam Goldstein

Associate Dean of Students

Florida State University

Adam's primary responsibilities include supervision of the Offices of Greek Life, Student Rights and Responsibilities, and Withdrawal Services. His other duties include crisis response and service on the Student Situation Resolution Team, advising students in the academic honor process, and providing leadership for departmental and divisional initiatives. Most recently, his efforts have focused on fostering a campus culture that places a high value on risk management education and decision-making, and on the Hazing Education Initiative at Florida State University.
