Assessment is increasingly a priority for student affairs administrators, including those directly responsible for residence life and housing operations. However, many institutions are struggling to create an overarching culture of assessment and incorporate assessment procedures throughout their residence life operations.
Join us for a webcast that will walk through a residential life assessment plan highlighting practical assessment measures, learning outcomes, data-gathering techniques (surveys, focus groups, etc.), and reporting. Faculty will share how starting with small initiatives allowed them to create an endorsed culture of assessment and allowed them to build a data-informed decision-making process.
This program is ideal for directors, assistant directors, and associate directors of residence life, as well as area coordinators and other residence life and housing administrators responsible for assessing the effectiveness and success of the on-campus housing experience. This program is intended for those institutions with minimal residence life assessment experience or those institutions that are in the formative stages of the residence life assessment initiatives.
Following this Web conference, attendees will be able to leverage their assessment initiatives to better serve residents.
Amanda currently oversees the assessment efforts for the Office of Residence Life and has worked for the past decade to educate student affairs practitioners on the importance of assessment. Amanda has also worked collaboratively with both academic affairs and student affairs departments at multiple institutions to develop university-wide assessment projects and has served on a variety of university-wide assessment and data committees, including institutional research committees, student satisfaction committees, and retention and enrollment management task forces. Amanda is currently in her second term on the directorate for ACPA’s Commission on Assessment and Evaluation. She has been an invited faculty member at the Summer Institute on First Year Assessment and has presented at many local, regional, and national conferences including ACPA’s Assessment Institute. Amanda has published articles in the Journal of College and University Student Housing, Net Results, ACPA Developments, and the Assessment Update.
