Maria R. Anguiano

Maria oversees campus-wide strategic planning, financial planning and analysis, institutional research, and capital asset strategies. She is responsible for managing a budget of $800 million. Ms. Anguiano has also served as a senior advisor to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Postsecondary Success Team. Prior to this work, Ms. Anguiano worked at Barclays Capital in public finance investment banking, and at Deloitte & Touche in corporate and nonprofit auditing and financial statement analysis. She currently serves on the board of The James Irvine Foundation and the Impact Board. Ms. Anguiano holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics-Accounting and Spanish from Claremont McKenna College.

Ben Jones, MA, CFRE, PMP

Ben blends his extensive Internet startup experience seamlessly into finding entrepreneurial approaches to increasing private foundation and corporate support in Higher Education. He has over a decade of experience in corporate and foundation relations, coupled with over fifteen years experience in Internet business development and production management. Over his career, he has raised over $30 million dollars, helped get several startups off the ground or achieve next level success, and managed hundreds of Internet development projects. His most recent work includes jumpstarting a CFR program for UMass Dartmouth that has resulted in a nearly ten-fold increase in faculty actively seeking private funding and the establishment of a holistic business engagement approach (inspired by an Academic Impressions workshop he attended) involving stakeholders from throughout the university.

Dr. Geoff Payne

During his 15 years at UNBC, Dr Payne has held a number of administrative positions including Assistant Dean for Education and Research with the Northern Medical Program. Dr. Payne maintains his research program in area of vascular physiology where he is a Full Professor in both the Northern Medical Program and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Programs. He came to UNBC in June 2004 as founding faculty of the medical school following a post-doctoral fellowship at Yale University in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology and John B. Pierce Laboratory. Dr. Payne holds a Ph.D. from Memorial University of Newfoundland in the field of cardiovascular and renal physiology. In addition to his biomedical research, he has also an interest in medical education in the areas of curriculum, assessment, and admissions.

Lindsay Drake

In this role, Lindsay develops and drives strategy for direct faculty-to-alumni engagement by applying a volunteer management model to faculty. Working closely with development directors, engagement officers, and college leadership, Lindsay facilitates quality faculty-to-alumni connections through various virtual and in-person programs and events. These programs include live video webinars with faculty speakers, research presentations, a virtual book club, lifelong learning programs, and faculty-to-alumni meet-ups around the world. Prior to her transition into higher education, Lindsay was an event producer for eight years at a sponsorship marketing agency, working with a variety of Fortune 500 clients on creating and executing world-class hospitality events.

Tim Carey

Dr. Tim Carey is a longtime administrator with an extensive background in facilities leadership and management. He joined Ithaca College, a private residential institution in upstate New York, in 2014.  

Melissa Rubrecht

In addition to his CFRE, Ben holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification that strongly influences his project-management approach to corporate and foundation relations. He regularly presents on organizational capacity building topics for environmental groups, has published articles on integrating technology into traditional non-profit work, and has provided fundraising training for a variety of audiences, including community groups and university faculty and staff. He and his family enjoy camping and hiking as often as they can, and Ben also gardens and keeps bees.

Kirsten Williams

Kirsten has been with the University of Oregon Foundation as head of the Gift Services Department for five years. She is responsible for the overall management and development of the Foundation gift processing function, including charitable gifts and pledges, gift receipts, memberships, related documentation and reporting. Prior to that she spent four years at the University of New Mexico Foundation in their Gift Administration Department. In addition to overseeing the day to day operations of gift processing, she implemented Development wide training and helped create policies and procedures for the intranet.
