Dr. Elizabeth Zavala-Acevez

Dr. Elizabeth Zavala-Acevez provides strategic direction to all facets of the Career Center, is involved with several programming efforts that pertain to CSUF’s retention cluster and provides leadership and supervision to a staff comprised of 28 staff members. Dr. Zavala-Acevez recently became a Hearing Officer for the Dean of Students, and also serves as a Title IX Deputy Coordinator for the Division of Student Affairs. As a career services professional she offers over thirteen years of experience and has been actively involved in the Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers (MPACE) by currently serving as a Board Member and previously co-chaired the 2015 annual professional conference, an active member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), and most recently received acceptance in their competitive Leadership Advancement Program, and is an alumna of their Management Leadership Institute, and a member of National Career Development, Association and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). She was awarded the NASPA Region VI Mid-Level Student Affairs Professional Award in 2015. Dr. Zavala-Acevez received her B.S. in Human Services from CSUF, her M.S. in Counseling with a Concentration in College Counseling from the University of La Verne, and her Ph.D. in Education, with an emphasis in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Claremont Graduate University in December 2014.
